Chapter 2

I got up , there was nothing around me. It took me a little while to recover mentally from the events that had happened in the past five minutes. I had just been hit by a truck and I literally flew down the cliff at the edge of the road before landing straight on the ground and blanking out... I do not know for how much time.

I looked around and could not see my bike anywhere. I was right in the middle of a narrow valley and on my top right , at least  two hundred feet above me was the road from where I had flown out. On the other side was another big mountain . I looked at where I woke up from and found a big rock.I must have hit my head there and blanked out, because there was blood on the rock.

Wait a minute...

200 feet drop?

Blood?

Something didn't add up. I looked at my clothes . Not a stain on them. Not even mud or sand or dust. My white shirt was gleaming white . I ran my hand through my hair. No blood.

I walked along the valley , and saw something shining in the corner. I ran towards it and picked it up. It was the mirror of my bike. I looked around the place in the bushes and saw more small parts of my bike. But couldn't find the entire bike. Something was really wrong.

Then I started climbing up towards the road. The funny thing was, normally my muscles would have been tensed under the force used for climbing, but I did not feel a thing. The sun was up, but I wasn't sweating. I wasn't even feeling hot. I climbed up without any tiredness and finally when I reached above I saw a horde of people standing there and a few vehicles. One of them was a tow truck with my shattered bike on it. The other was an ambulance. As I looked the backdoor was slightly open and I could see a small portion of a golden brown shoe of the body on the stretcher inside. Then the ambulance guy shut it closed. Something suddenly clicked in my mind . I looked down at my feet.

I was wearing golden brown shoes.

 The exact same type.

Policemen had arrived on the scene as well, and were questioning drivers. I decided to go to an officer and tell him what happened. I saw a fat officer standing by the side, writing something into his pad. I went up to him and said "Excuse me , officer.."

He just kept on writing. I repeated myself, but he didn't even look up. I raised my voice a bit. "OFFICER!" I said. Still nothing.I went and stood right in front of him. He looked up , and before I could say anything to him he shouted at the guy behind me "Hey get away from that bike!" It was like he was looking through me at the guy behind me. Even the guy nodded at the officer . This was weird. I was standing right between them and they were talking to each other as if I didn't exist. Even when I climbed from the bottom up many people were looking down the cliff but it was like no one even noticed me get to the road from the valley below. Even though I was right in front of their eyes. This was terrible .

Why was everybody pretending as if I didn't exist??

Suddenly I turned around and a flash blinded my eyes

Erika was standing right in front of me . I could make out it was my imagination.

"What did you have to say to me? " said her apparition

"You came into my life ...Quietly, simply, placidly ...You entered in with so much force , my world stood still I wanted to tell you that Id travel to any corner of the universe but just to be with you.

Before I could, you left with a force stronger than the one you entered with.I wanted to tell you that you were my rescuer , pulling me out of the darkness.

But maybe I felt cowardly , I thought you'd laugh at me.

So i loved you from afar, in my heart, a place where it couldn't be mocked or laughed at.

In my heart where you cannot reject it, cannot run away.

Pure , rare. Hence in silence , I'll love and in silence I will care.."

As I said this  a tear rolled down my cheek . The apparition disappeared.

I turned around and walked towards the Tow van. Another car was standing in between, with fully reflective screen protectors on its windows...I just walked past it . I wanted to know what was happening and ....

I went back near the window of the car and looked into it.

I saw nothing. No Me . At all. Nothingness.

I wasn't me anymore. The real me drove away in that ambulance towards the mortuary.

I was the indestructible part of myself, which was embedded deep in my body from the time I was born.

I was a spirit.
